The smooth dark walls, the warmth radiating through my gloves, the way my light seemed to disappear into the material instead of reflecting back. Not a natural cave, the walls curved in perfect geometric patterns and rising from the floor, massive structures that looked like buildings or monuments. Each one may be 100 feet tall, covered in the same spiral patterns I'd seen carved in the ice above. Movement flickered between the structures, shadows that shouldn't exist in an empty chamber.

As I watched, one of the structures began to glow. Bioluminescent light pulsed along its surface in waves, starting at the base and flowing upward in the spiral pattern. The light was blue-green, organic, like deep sea creatures I'd seen in nature documentaries. The pulsing matched the rhythm I'd felt through the dark walls above.
